This is the first work in a watercolor series I am working on dedicated to PreColumbian civilizations. Since I live in Mexico I am very interested in the art works that were produced before the arrival of the Europeans. I find them to be magical and mysterious.
Susan Santiago completed her undergraduate work at New York University where she received a bachelor's degree in Art History. She later moved to Woodstock, New York. While teaching art there, she enrolled in the Art Students' League, (now the Woodstock School of Art) and studied life drawing with Franklin Alexander. After enduring many cold winters there in upstate New York, she moved to Southern California and settled in Venice, then a bohemian enclave at the beach. She enrolled at California State University, Los Angeles, and received a Masters Degree in Fine Art.
